The Absentees are a band that plays music. Coming off a major world tour in places like Capitol Hill and Greenlake, they are now set to take the stage at The Rabbit Box, a local venue in the band’s hometown. Influences include The Smiths, Dinosaur Jr, Daft Punk, Lucille Bogan (look her up), Calvin & Hobbes, and Greg Heffley.

Holland searches for answers to hard questions often found hiding within the bars of unwritten songs. Influenced by the likes of Mazzy Star, Big Thief, Radiohead, and Ichiko Aoba, their work combines both delicate and gritty sounds to compose numbers equal parts haunting and visceral. We dare you to call it emo to their face and watch them try to explain themself...
