Rabbit Box Call to Action

  • The Rabbit Box Theatre 94 Pike Street Seattle, WA, 98101 United States (map)

Welcome to The Rabbit Box!

94 Pike St. Seattle, WA 98101

Where "The Ghost of the Backstage meets the Little Triple Door"

This is an attempt to shout out to Seattle in Support of Music Venues and the Arts. We raised 7,000 in our previous campaign. Thank you for all your support. Crowdfunding is not the answer but it's the only path we have right now while we navigate this new territory for venues and the arts in Seattle. Please visit us, host an event, and enjoy a show. Ingenuity and participation are the key.

2021: We stepped out of quarantine into an unknown climate for venues, bars, restaurants & the arts. Our vision grew out of the need for a new meeting place after a worldwide pandemic. We set out to create an experience and a place for all cultures, all walks of life, all people, and all ages who visit & live in Seattle.

The timeline of our opening on November 3rd, 2022 seemed ideal but was unfortunate. Being a new endeavor during the pandemic, younger than two years, and having no history for two years prior, we are ineligible for grants and other city loans and support. We have been riding the wave of inflation, interest rates, insurance, and labor increases. (many venues, restaurants, bars, and other art organizations are on the precipice of closing) In light of the post-pandemic reality, our new venue is under threat of closing. Being downtown has its challenges & the demographic of our location suffers from the absence of a healthy nightlife. We want to change that.

We are seeking to raise funds to help us get through this phase, pay off some of the incurred debts, take care of our staff, artists and ultimately give us some time to bring some awareness to our city, its people, and our community and hopefully have a footing for any future decisions needed to keep the space active, whether it be a new owner or partner willing to see the beauty of small spaces encouraging blooming performers that need these places to launch their talents.

We have been looking for an investor group, collaborative partners, and new ways to bring attention to small supportive venues like ours. We have barely begun to learn what a place like this needs to be in the heart of Seattle's Pike Place Market. (the 33rd most visited place in the world)

The Rabbit Box is young but the current owners have had much experience with this work. We are not alone in the Seattle venue, restaurant, and artist crisis. This is a shout-out to Seattle built on the arts. Our stages are stepping stones for artists to build confidence and have been a vital factor in the public health of our city.

If you have been to The Rabbit Box, you have seen the love and effort that went into the space and experienced the warmth and energy of its charms. We want to lay the lines for an additional cultural space in our city. We must keep these spaces alive. The discussions are happening but they need to widen. We host live music, comedy, theatric, independent film, poetry, literary, and kid-friendly events with collaborators Sonic Guild, The Triple Door, Tractor Tavern, School of Rock, and artists. We are hosting a live event to bring this conversation forward. Please watch our website for upcoming events. therabbitboxseattle.com

We have heard the voices of many national and local artists on our stage. We have hosted birthdays, fundraisers, weddings, unweddings, and memorials. ~ With the support of the city of Seattle, Our Radio stations, and Art lovers everywhere, we can bring more.
